Obituary of Hugh Thomas McDonald

McDONALD: Hugh Thomas – A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of Hamilton, London and the Greater Toronto Area, Hugh McDonald passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 surrounded by his family at the age of 71. Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Hugh was the son of the late Hugh and Freda (Boudreau) McDonald. Loving father of Christine Rachar (Mark) of London, Ian Macdonald (Anna) of Edmonton, Moréna McDonald (Corey North) of Ridgetown and Katherine McDonald (Mike Peeters) of Ridgetown. Proud grandfather of Caitlin, Luke, Ben and Claire Rachar and Liam Macdonald. Hugh taught high school and elementary school students from numerous schools throughout Ontario. He had a passion for French which he passed on to his students. Hugh will be missed by his fellow members at the Knights of Columbus, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 243, Ridgetown, and the Kent Cloverleaf Conservation Club. Cremation has taken place with private family arrangements to be held at a later date. Donations made in memory of Hugh to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
