Roffel, Ebeltje (Mabel). Our God and Creator took unto Himself our Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother on Monday March 26, 2012 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus. Mabel, a resident of Chatham was born in Odoorn, The Netherlands 78 years ago. Daughter of the late Jacobus & Geertruida Koopman (VanOosten). Predeceased by husband John. Dear mother of Cindy & Andy VanDen Toorn, Rockford, Michigan; Jack & Betty Ann Roffel, Chatham; John & Evelyn Roffel, Strathroy and Maryanne & Rob Laman, Fenwick, Ontario. Grandmother of 21 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Sister of Gezina Koopman; Tom & Grace Koopman; Meindert & Attie Koopman; Marchien & Harry Zuidema and Gezina & John Pennings. Sister-in-law of Harry & Diane Roffel and Anne Koomans. Predeceased by sister Pearl Greevink, brother John Koopman, brother Wiecher Koopman, & sister Trudy Brink. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Mckinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Wednesday March 28, 2012 from 2:00–4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Free Reformed Church, Gregory Drive, Chatham on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Tim Bergsma officiating.
