FOEKENS: Maria. At his appointed time, the Lord took home our Mom, Oma, and Great-Oma Maria Foekens (nee Luijendijk) on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Meadow Park Nursing Home. Born in Hillersberg, The Netherlands, daughter of the late Marinus and Hendrina (Van Middelkoop) Luyendijk. Wife of the late Adriaan Foekens (1977). Mother of Jane and Paul Rivard, Ina and Andy Beintema, Marg and Lou Beintema, Irene Vanderveer and friend Al LaMarsh, Walter and Audrey Foekens, Murray and Barb Foekens, and Sylvia and Hank Weilhouwer. Also survived by 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Sister of Hermina Luyendijk of The Netherlands and also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and The Netherlands. Predeceased by her birth mother Hermina Stekelenburg, sons Jack Adrian (1957), Marinus (2005), son-in-law Tim Vanderveer (2005), 2 grandchildren, sister Cornelia Kruit and brother-in-law Leen Kruit. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held from Eben-Ezer Canadian Reformed Church, 483 McNaughton Ave. E., Chatham on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rueben Brenenhof officiating. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Community Living Chatham-Kent, or Anchor would be appreciated.
