Obituary of George VanKerkhoven

Van Kerkhoven, George Julian Marcel: A resident of Chatham, George Van Kerkhoven passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, April 20, 2012 at the age of 75 . Born in Tilbury Township, George is the son of the late Joseph and Elvira Van Kerkhoven. Dear father of Michael and Linda Van Kerkhoven of Chatham, Christine and David Smith of Ingersoll and Richard Van Kerkhoven and Lori Slack of Chatham. Beloved grandfather of Neil, Ryan and Heather Van Kerkhoven; Jessica and Joshua Smith; and Justin Van Kerkhoven and Brittany Slack. Dear brother of Georgina and Raymond Van Haverbeke of Tecumseh and the late Georgette Van Slembrouck (2007). Friends will be received at the Mckinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday April 24, 2012 and Wednesday, April 25, 2012 from 3:00–5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish prayers will be said in the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7 PM. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 180 Wellington St. W. on Thursday, April 26 at 10:30 AM with Father Matt Kucharski celebrant. Cremation to follow. Interment Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations in memory of George to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
