Obituary of George Robert Johnston

Johnston, George Robert: A resident of Chatham, George Robert Johnston passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the age of 83 . Born in Chatham, George is the son of the late James (1943) and Pearl (1938) Johnston. George proudly served the city of Chatham as a fire-fighter until his retirement in 1990. He is predeceased by his wife of 57 years Darlene (Clarke). Dear father of Cherylynn and Park Parry of Chatham, James and Molly Johnston of Hazelton, PA and Michele and Gary Buchanan of Windsor. Proud and beloved grandfather of twelve and “Great Papa George” to nine. Dear brother of Joyce (George) Emmerson of Whitby, and the late James Johnston, Lois Terry, and Jean Gustin. George will be fondly remembered by long time friends George and Katherine Morrow. At George’s request a private family service will be held. Interment Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
