DOUMA, Birgitt; A resident of Chatham, Birgitt Douma, passed away at her residence on Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the age of 65. Born in Germany, daughter of the late Horst & Helga Schleehahn. Cherished wife for 47 years to Joe Douma. Loving mother to Allison Hannaford (Robert) of Toronto, Jim Douma of Vancouver B.C., and the late Stephanie Devost (1993). Forever missed by her grandchildren Aaron, Hunter, and Andrew. Survived by siblings Eva & John McMillan of Florida, Asbjurg & Gary Vanderveen of Edmonton A.B., Rolf Schleehahn of Toronto, Patricia Schleehahn of Alberta, and Caroline Schleehahn of Barrie. Predeceased by sister Jutta Calnik. Birgitt enjoyed painting, gardening, and needlework. Family to receive friends at St. Paul’s Congregational Church 450 Park Ave. West, Chatham on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
