Obituary of Leslie Shugar

Shugar: Leslie (Les). Peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 2, 2012, Les Shugar passed away with his daughter by his side. Dear father of Zoe McGarvah and her husband Nate. Proud Popi of Lily and Rozzy. Brother of Owen Shugar and his wife Carol of Las Vegas and their daughters Miki and Rachelle. Les will also be especially missed by son Byron McEwen, Karen "Coopsie" Cooper, and Julie MacWilliam. Predeceased by his soulmate Joni Shugar (1987), and his parents Lou and Estelle (Fisher) Shugar. The community of Rondeau will miss a true friend. Les will also be dearly missed by all of his close friends that he met throughout his life when he was working in crop research, cooking ribs, creating Shugar Daddy's Sauce with his best friend Lonnie, jamming, or just being Lester P. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. (casual attire is encouraged). Donations in memory of Les to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Zoe would like to thank Dr. Stephen Jones and all the wonderful V.O.N. Nurses for their special care for Les.
