Obituary of Craig Andrew Lumley

LUMLEY: Surrounded by his family, a resident of R.R.#4 Chatham, Craig Andrew Lumley passed away on August 2, 2012 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 60. Craig was born in Chatham on May 1, 1952. Dear husband and best friend for 42 years to Linda (Steen) Lumley. Cherished father and best buds of Chris and Lisa of St. Thomas, Kevin and Angela of Chatham, and Shawn and Chantelle of Blenheim. Proud poppa of Abby, Brynn, Alyssa and Gavin. Craig is survived by father Ron, brother Rick and Judy, sister Bonnie and Bob Decan, and sister Vicki Brown. Fondly remembered by his In-laws Alfred and Alphonsine Joyce, James Steen, Deb and Paul Bard, Laurie and Steve Darke, Sandi Joyce and families. Predeceased by mother Betty and father-in-law George Steen. Craig was a Financial Advisor and EPC for 35 years and a Home and Auto Insurance Broker. He was Past President of Chatham Minor Hockey; Founder, Past President and Life Member of the Chatham Kent Cyclones AAA Hockey; and President of the Chatham Kent Landlords Association. Craig had many passions in his life – minor hockey, pontoon boating, fishing, golf, and spending countless hours on his deck and around the campfire with his boys and family. He always believed that any child should be able to play hockey at the highest level possible. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Sunday, August 5 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 PM and again on Monday, August 6 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. At Craig’s request, please dress in casual attire. A private family service will be held at a later date and a celebration of Craig’s life will take place in the fall. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Craig to the Brain Tumour Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
