SMITH: Betty Evelyn (nee Hearns) – A resident of Ridgetown, Betty Smith passed away at The Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the age of 85. Born in Ridgetown, Betty was the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Buller) Hearns. Beloved wife of the late John F. Smith and the late Alfred F. Brereton. Loving mother of Susan Connon of Blenheim, Marion Hartford (Terry) of Ridgetown and Geoffrey Brereton of Ridgetown. Proud grandmother of Heather, Patrick, Jill, Melinda, Jeremy and Jason. Great-grandmother to Lerissa, Isabelle and McKenna. Dear sister to Margaret Goudreau of Ridgetown, Velma Steinburg (Peter) of Sutton and Barbara Haskell of Chatham. Predeceased by her brother Art Hearns. Betty is survived by her sister-in-law Frances Hearns of Thamesville. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Monday, August 6, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
