Obituary of Gladys C. Lewis

LEWIS: Gladys C. A longtime resident of Chatham, Gladys Clark Lewis died peacefully at Riverview Gardens on Friday August 3, 2012 at the age of 87. Born in Hamilton, daughter of the late Robert & Gertrude (Wilson) Smith. She was predeceased by her husband Harry E. Lewis in 1959. Loving and devoted mother of Ronald & Thelma Lewis of Arthurette, New Brunswick, Robert & Laura Lewis of Chatham, Vicki & Tom Cochrane of Morpeth, Susan Parent of Chatham, Sally Rumford of Chatham, and Patrick & Linda Lewis of Dresden. Fondly remembered by her 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Dear sister of Ellen of Milton, Elsie, and Doreen, both of Saint John, New Brunswick. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gladys worked for many years as a Nurses Aid at the former Canadiana Nursing Home in Chatham. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday August 7, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday August 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery.
