Obituary of Ruth Ann Ellis

ELLIS: Ruth Ann (nee Hatt) - A resident of Blenheim, Ruth Ann Ellis passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the age of 66. Born in Leamington, Ruth was the beloved wife of 49 years to James “Jim” Ellis. Loving mother of James Richard and Catherine Ellis of Midland. Dear sister to Bob and Olga Callow, Cheryl Callow, Linda and Brian Pickering, Barbara Callow, Kathy Callow, Maryann and Marce Grossutti, Donna and Rob Mailing, Murray and Jane Callow and Brenda and Ernst Burri. Predeceased by her sister Joy Hartford (2011). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and extended family. Ruth was an active member at numerous branches of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Ladies' Auxiliary for 18 years. Ruth had worked at a number of different places, including 18 years at Standard Tube, and she eventually retired from Shopper’s Drug Mart after many years of service. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 185, Blenheim on Saturday, August 11, 2012 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Donations made in memory of Ruth to the Legion Poppy Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
