Obituary of Harmke Damm

DAMM, Harmke; A resident of Chatham and formerly of Holland Christian Home, Brampton, Harmke Damm (nee Goeree), passed away peacefully at the Riverview Gardens Nursing Home on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at the age of 96. Cherished wife of the late Donald Damm (1995). Loving mother to John Damm (Neeltje) of Chatham, Garry Damm (Irene) of Port Colborne, the late Klaassien “Kathy” Mans (1985), the late Klasske “Katie” Hunter (2005), and the late Peter Damm (2011). Survived by sons-in-law John Mans of Dunnville, Dan Hunter of British Columbia, and daughter-in-law Gerda Damm of Chatham. Forever missed by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by her 3 sisters, and 1 brother. Harmke enjoyed knitting, and was a helping hand to the nurses at Riverview Gardens Nursing Home. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street Chatham on Sunday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the First Reformed Church, 632 Lacroix Street, Chatham at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Pieter Schinkelshoek officiating. Interment will take place in Brampton Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Harmke Damm to the First Reformed Church would be appreciated by the family.
