Obituary of Audrey Powell

POWELL: Audrey (nee Pierce) - A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of Pelee Island and Merlin, Audrey Powell passed away at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the age of 86. Born in Merlin, Audrey was the daughter of the late Benjamin F. Pierce (Melba) and Eva Lucas. Beloved wife of 62 years to John “Jack” Powell. Loving mother of Susan Jane Ashton (Kenneth) of R.R. # 3 Bothwell and John Powell (Sharon Weeks) of R.R. # 5 Merlin. Proud grandmother of Benjamin Ashton (Jen Easun) of Kitchener. Audrey was a lifelong supporter of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 with Rev. Al McIntyre and Rev. Paul Shaw officiating. Cremation to follow with a private family interment at Greenwood Cemetery to be held at a later date. Donations made in memory of Audrey to the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church, Canadian Diabetes Association or the C.N.I.B. would be appreciated.
