Obituary of Marion Roberta Abray

ABRAY: Marion Roberta (nee McLarty) – A resident of Ridgetown, Marion Abray passed away at The Village on the Ridge in Ridgetown surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the age of 85. Born in Chatham, Marion was the daughter of the late Leslie and Iva (Sloan) McLarty. Beloved wife of the late Harold E. Abray (2001). Loving mother of Lorraine M. Geelen (Evert) of Essex, Charlene VanderGriendt (Frank) of Waterloo and Richard Abray (Susan) of Ridgetown. Proud grandmother of Jeremy (Allison) Geelen, Justin (Julie) Geelen, Jonathan (fiancée Candace) Geelen, Gord (Tricia) Claridge, Carrie (Shea) Gilroy, Jason (Megan) Abray, Curtis (Laura) VanderGriendt, Lauren (Alex) McDougall and Paul VanderGriendt. Great-grandmother to Nate, Emma, Colton, Maryn and Ryley. Marion is predeceased by her five brothers. Marion will be remembered for her caring and supportive nature. She had a love of family, cooking, sewing, quilting and gardening. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Friday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 1, 2012 with Rev. Doug Rowley officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Donations made in memory of Marion Abray the Parkinson Foundation would be appreciated.
