Obituary of John Herbert

HERBERT, John Edward “Jack”; A resident of Chatham, John Edward “Jack” Herbert, passed away on November 4, 2012 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus. Born in Welland, Ontario on August 7th, 1928. Loving husband and best friend to Winnie (Jubenville) Herbert for 59 years. Cherished father to Lynn Herbert (Dick) of Mitchell’s Bay, Gail Zelina (Pat) of Brampton, Scott Herbert (Kelly) of Chatham, and Pam Herbert (Ray) of Chatham. Grandfather to Courtney, Matthew, Amanda, Joel, Robyn, and Logan. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Doris (McNernie) Douglas and step-father Fred Douglas, father Garnet Herbert and step-mother Ruth Herbert. John was a committed member of Sprucedale United Church, and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28, Chatham. He started his career in menswear at Edelstein’s and retired from Lionel’s Menswear. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at Sprucedale United Church, 493 Victoria Ave, Chatham on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.
