Obituary of Margaret Theresa Richie

RICHIE, Margaret Theresa; A resident of Chatham, Margaret Theresa Richie, passed away following a long journey of illnesses surrounded by her family on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus. Born in Chatham, 81 years ago, daughter of the late Leo & Delia McGregor. Beloved wife for 62 years to Benedict “Bennie” Richie. Loving mother to Michael & Elsa Richie of Chatham, Karen & Harry Ellis of Chatham, Elaine & Mark Wyatt of Yukon Territory, Marsha Richie & David Quinlan of Victoria, B.C., Jane & Randy Kovar of Chatham. Forever missed by her grandchildren Jordan (Amanda), Megan (TJ), Tom (Stephanie), Robert (Corin), Colleen, Jason, Shauna (Dave), Jesse, and her great-grandchildren Alexandra, Cassidy, Alexander, Sarah, Kiara, and Ben. Survived by her siblings John & Dorothy McGregor of Kingsville, Jessie Robert of Pain Court, and sister-in-law Cheryl McGregor of Windsor. Predeceased by brother Allan McGregor, and 4 infant siblings Cecilia Ann, Mary Ellen, Mary Jean, and William. Margaret was an avid reader, quilter, and gardener. She loved the outdoors, spent many years living in Pine Tree Harbour with family and friends. Margaret was a leader for Girl Guides Canada for over 5 years, she worked as a registered nurses assistant at Thamesview Lodge for many years. She was an inspiring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday from 2:00-4:30 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Monday, November 19. 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Donna Green officiating.
