STEWART-GOLDONI-POWERS: Florence - A resident of Chatham, Florence Stewart-Goldoni-Powers passed away peacefully at her residence with her family at her side on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the age of 74. Born in Tilbury, Florence was the daughter of the late Clarence and Blondine (Chouinard) Giroux. Beloved wife of W. Glen Powers. Predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Allan Stewart (2000), her second husband Frank Goldoni (2002) and her partner Greg McKeon (2008). Loving mother of Lynn (nee Stewart) and Gerald Eves of Tupperville, Pamela (nee Stewart) and James Lee of Bright’s Grove, and Craig Stewart of Chatham. Proud grandmother of Stephanie Jaques (Josh), Nicole Eves (Neil Warnock), Ashley McFadden (Ryan), Tara Boyd (fiancé Darryl Kuehl), Sean Crawford (Kathryn Seetahal), Mason Lee and Samantha Stewart. Great-grandmother to Brayden and Brooke. Dear sister to Ilene Solomon of Chatham, Theresa Horton of Chatham, Agnes Moon of Chatham, Annette Trottier (Paul) of La Salle and Paul Giroux (Esther) of Ridgetown. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Jack Solomon, Clarence Horton and Richard Moon. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. A special thank-you to Florence’s grandchildren for the tender and compassionate care you showed your grandmother in her final days. A very special thank-you to Florence’s granddaughter Tara for her amazing nursing care and the excellent leadership she showed to her family. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 with Rev. Daniel Bombardier officiating. Interment St Francis Cemetery, Tilbury. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Florence to the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
