Obituary of Allan McKinlay

McKinlay, Allan, a resident of R.R. #2, Blenheim. Robert Allan McKinlay died Thursday February 7, 2013 at University Hospital, London at the age of 87. Born in Chatham, Ontario, son of the late Robert Fairchild and Margaret Allan (Crawford) McKinlay. Beloved husband of the late Kathryn Clare (McGregor) McKinlay(2008). Dear father of Janet Legue and husband Joe of Dorchester, Margot Bickell and husband Gord of Little Current, Jim McKinlay and wife Mary of Howard Township, Martha Wickware and husband David of Montreal and Joann Nead of Toronto. Grandfather of 13 grandchildren. Brother of Margaret Thompson of Blenheim and the late James C. McKinlay and Catherine Morrison. Brother-in-law of Edith McKinlay, Morpeth. Allan was a member of Erie Street United Church and formerly Morpeth United Church. He was an avid golfer, curler, and well respected farmer & cattleman in Howard Township. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St.,E., Ridgetown on Monday February 11, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Judith Fayter officiating. Cremation with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Donations in memory of Allan to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
