Obituary of Nellie Aarts

AARTS, Nellie; A resident of Chatham, Nellie Aarts, passed away at her residence with her family by her side on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. She was born in Holland 74 years ago. Loving mother to Ron Aarts (Carolyn) of Mitchells Bay, Mark Aarts of Chatham, Ingrid O’Rourke (Jeff) of Millgrove, ON, and John Paul Aarts of Chatham. Grandmother to Holly and JacLyn of Millgrove, and Haley of Chatham. Sister to Ingrid Carney of Chatham, and Hans Gerrits (Lia) of London. Forever missed by nieces, nephews, and many close friends. “Our mom Nellie was a great caregiver her whole life. Working for foster care since 1960, she was a caregiver and babysitter for over one hundred children. I came into her home in 1972 and like my big brother Ron was adopted. Twenty-five years ago she worked fulltime as an aide at Meadow Park Nursing Home after becoming a single mother. She took pride and loved her job until her retirement at age 65. She was the greatest mom in the world, as I am a special needs man at the age of forty one years. She cared for me everyday. She will be in our hearts and souls forever, and will be missed by all. We love you mom. You will never be forgotten by us and others. You are the number one mom in the world” ---John Paul Aarts Cremation has taken place and family will gather for a private service at a later date.
