Obituary of Yvonne Macpherson

MACPHERSON: Yvonne, R.N. (nee Bothwell). Born March 26th, 1929 in Paris, France, and a resident of Duart and Ridgetown, Yvonne passed away peacefully in Chatham surrounded by family on Thursday March 21, 2013. Predeceased by husband James Archibald Macpherson, M.D. (1990). Yvonne is survived by daughter Janet McCredie and husband John of London, daughter Ellen Ilic and husband Zeljko of Kanata. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Sean, Brynn, Ariel and Zakary. Dear sister to the late Joan Edwards. Survived by brother-in-law Ross Edwards of Amherstburg. Yvonne was active in her community as past President of the Kent County Children’s Aid Society and former Chairman of the Kent County Board of Education with over 25 years of service as a trustee. Her life long interest in local history can be found in her extensive photography and documentation of the schools of Kent County and the community of Duart. As an avid bell and stamp collector, she co-authored three publications on bells. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m on Saturday March 23, 2013. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
