Obituary of Albert Dow

DOW: Albert. A resident of Chatham, Albert Dow died peacefully at Riverview Gardens on Wednesday April 3, 2013. He was born 90 years ago in Spring Hill, Nova Scotia, son of the late Lawrence & Amelia (McGrath) Dow. Albert and his beloved wife Doris (Boutilier) Dow celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary on July 8, 2012. Dear father of Albert “Ab” Dow and his wife Laverne of Hamilton, Bill Dow and his wife Sue of Chatham, and the late Lawrence Dow (1979). Fondly remembered by his 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Brother of Florence Parker, Rosie Harrison, Doris Bourque, Walter & Sally Dow, Leonard & Beatrice Dow, and the late Rita, Charlie, Mae, Alice, Dora, Annie, and Henry. Albert was a Veteran of WWII, serving overseas with the Cape Breton Highlanders. He owned and operated Dow Shoe Repair in Dresden for many years before retiring to Chatham. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday April 6, 2013 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral Service to follow at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Bombardier of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church officiating. Cremation to follow with interment at Dresden Cemetery at a later date.
