Obituary of Gwendolyn Farrants

FARRANTS, Gwendolyn A resident of Chatham and formerly of Thamesville, Gwen Farrants (nee Smith), passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at the Copper Terrace Long Term Care Home at the age of 88. Born in Chatham on April 24, 1925, daughter of the late Cecil & Edith Smith. Devoted wife of the late Robert “Bob” Farrants (1992). Loving mother to Rob Farrants & Pauline Fabok of Chatham, Nancy & Paul Starling of Calgary, Brian & Andrea Farrants of London, Elaine & Pat Weaver of Thamesville. Grandmother to Bryce Farrants (Karen), Andrew, Jason, and the late Craig Farrants, Jeremy (Stephanie), Scott, Caitlyn, David Weaver, and step-grandmother to Jolene & Jamie Hathaway, and Jaymee & Crystal Houle. Remembered by her 7 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Margaret James (Reg), and Ernie Smith (Mary). Gwen was a founding member of the ACW at Holy Trinity Anglican Church. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Gwendolyn Farrants to a Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated by the family.
