Obituary of Johnny Cowell

COWELL: Johnny – A lifelong resident of Ridgetown, Johnny Cowell passed away peacefully at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the age of 82. Johnny was the son of the late Percy and Helen (Smedley) Cowell. Beloved husband of 58 years to the late Eileen (nee McPhail) (2010). Loving father of Dianna Cowell of Windsor, Dave Cowell and his wife Cathy of Ridgetown and Jim Cowell of Ridgetown. Proud grandfather of three grandsons, Bryan and his wife Cindy of Highgate, Brent and his wife Tabitha of Chatham and Jason and his wife Elishia of Strathroy. Great-grandfather of Avery, Brooke and Lucas Cowell. Johnny had worked at CSX Railroad for over 30 years. He was also a retired Deputy Chief of the Ridgetown Fire Department. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 243 in Ridgetown and an avid golfer with a membership with the Ridgetown Golf Club. Johnny ran “Johnny’s Variety” with his wife Eileen for 13 years. A Private Family Service will be held for Johnny, with an interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown.
