Obituary of Jim Summerfield

SUMMERFIELD, Jim A resident of Chatham, Jim Summerfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus at the age of 87. Loving husband and best friend to Linda Summerfield. Cherished father to Darren Summerfield, Diana Ytsma and her husband Mike, and the late Doug Summerfield (1997) and his wife Paula. Grandfather to Chad, Cory, Alcia, Nicole, and great-grandfather to Hailey, Max. Brother to the late Rose Anakin, Ruby Dietrich, the late John Summerfield, the late Lloyd Summerfield, the late June Clarke, and Ernie Summerfield. Missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Jim leaves behind Rocky, his black lab and best buddy. Cremation has taken place. A casual Gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will take place at the Canadian Dutch Belgian Club, 34 Byng Ave, Chatham on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. A special thanks to staff and nurses at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance both Chatham and Wallaceburg Campuses, to Dr. David Sullivan and staff, to all friends and relatives, and to our special friend Betsy for being there.
