Obituary of John Frederick 'Jack' Lynch

LYNCH: John Frederick “Jack” – A lifelong resident of Blenheim, Jack Lynch passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Sydenham Campus with his family at his side on Friday, October 25, 2013 in his 94th year. Born in Blenheim, Jack was the son of Charles and Ethel (McCracken) Lynch. Beloved husband to the late Muriel McNiff (1975) and the late Nellie Hartford (2002). Loving father of Judy Grey (Ted) of Blenheim. Proud grandfather of Juli McEachran (Lee) of Blenheim, Jason Watts (Valerie) of Blenheim and David Grey (Debbie) of London. Great-grandfather to Erin and Connor McEachran and Lauren and Logan Grey. Dear brother to Frank Lynch (Bing) of Blenheim. Predeceased by his twin brother Charles Lynch (2006) and his sisters Mary Chase and Agnes Copeland. Also survived by his sister-in-law Norma Lynch, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Jack was an active member of the Trinity Anglican Church in Blenheim since 1926, having taught Sunday School, sung in the choir, and been a member of the Brotherhood of Anglican Churchmen. Jack was a licensed auto mechanic, receiving his licence in 1949 and maintaining it up until the day he passed. He was a member of the P.U.C. for 26 years (1967 – 1992). He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a radar mechanic. He was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows since 1950, when he joined the Rondeau Lodge #40. He was also a member of the Florence Lodge #196 and was the past district Grand Master of Kent District #3. He was also a longtime member of the Golden Tones Choir. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. An Odd Fellows Lodge Service will be held Monday at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 59 Ellen St, Blenheim at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 with the Rev. David Fuller officiating and assisted by the Rev. Susan Jolley. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim.
