Obituary of Joseph Peckford

PECKFORD: Joseph Roy (Joey). A resident of Chatham, Joseph Peckford passed away at home on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the age of 43. Born in Chatham, son of the late Margaret (Osbourne) Hain (2007) and the late Norman (Joe) Peckford (2009). Joey leaves behind his son Neil Peckford of Blenheim. Brother of Annette Welch and her husband Paul of Chatham, Wanda Peckford of Bishop's Falls, Newfoundland, and predeceased by brother Norman Peckford (1969). Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joey's family were from Newfoundland. He moved to Toronto as a teenager and was a trucker, driving big rigs. He later moved to Chatham to be near his family in 2009. He struggled with heart issues for most of his life, and had battled cancer since 2010. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. with Capt. Andrew Watkinson of the Salvation Army officiating. Cremation with interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Blenheim. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or O.S.P.C.A.
