Obituary of Dorothy Poissant

POISSANT: Dorothy (nee Lucier) –Surrounded by her loving family, Dorothy Poissant passed away into her Lord’s loving arms on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the age of 88. Born March 9, 1925 in Dover Township, daughter of Dominic and Alma (Sylvain) Lucier. Predeceased by her husband Gerard Poissant (1972). Dorothy is survived by her daughters Mary Lou Fotherby of Chatham, Doris Cowan of Oakville, and Linda Rivard of Chatham and her son Ken Poissant (Sandy) of Chatham. Predeceased by sons Gary Poissant (1997), Tom Poissant (2006). Dorothy is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by siblings Dan Lucier, Harvey Lucier, Felix Lucier, Doria Charron, Stella Lozon and Noella Roberts. The Poissant family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at Riverview Gardens for all of the loving care they provided for our mother during her stay. We would also like to thank everyone for their cards, prayers and loving thoughts during our mother’s final days. At Dorothy’s request, there will be a private ceremony for immediate family members only. Dorothy will be laid to rest at St Philippe’s Cemetery, Grande Pointe.
