Obituary of Selina J. Goodbrand

GOODBRAND: Selina J. (nee Lose) - A resident of Blenheim, and formerly of Chatham, Selina Goodbrand passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the age of 92. Born in Ingersoll, Selina was the daughter of the late Richard and Cissy Lose. Beloved wife of the late J. Lloyd Goodbrand (1984). Loving mother of Howard Goodbrand (Lu-Ann Minchin) of Blenheim and Joy Simmons (Richard) of Pembroke. Will be missed by very close friend Cheryl Brook. Proud grandmother of Jonathan Goodbrand (Ashley) of London. Dear sister to the late Richard “Charles” Lose. Also missed by friends and extended family. Selina was a retired R.N. and had worked at both the Public General Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chatham. She also worked at Dr. Pierce’s office, as well as many private homes when required by a physician. She loved baking and making cakes and cookies for friends and neighbours. She also baked and decorated cakes for private parties, anniversaries, birthdays and retirement parties. Selina was an active member at the Blenheim United Church for over 30 years. She loved to sing in the church choir. Selina was also active in the I.O.D.E. Randolph Churchill Chapter, Blenheim for over 30 years. She had volunteered at the Blenheim Community Village for many years before she became a resident. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Blenheim at a later date.
