Obituary of Robert Allen 'Bob' Aikens

AIKENS: Robert Allen “Bob” - A resident of Shrewsbury, and formerly of Michigan and New York state, Bob Aikens passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the age of 60. Born in Westfield, New York, U.S.A., Bob was the son of the late Sammy and Alice (Miller) Aikens. Loving father of Bruce Aikens of West Elgin and Chris Aikens of Blenheim. Proud grandfather of Dakota and Jordan. Dear brother of Richard Orton and his wife Bonnie of Whittier, California, Doug Orton and his wife Kathy of Brighton, Michigan, David Aikens and his wife Nancy of Blenheim and the late Laura Anderson. Much loved uncle of Brent Austen and his wife Crystal, Theresa Orton, Jenny Dow and her husband Shawn, April Corfe, Helen Anderson and her wife Laura and Steve Anderson and his wife Amy. Bob will be missed by his Jack Russell Terrier, Buttons. Great-uncle to 17 great-nieces and nephews. Also missed many friends and extended family. Bob was a commercial fisherman and loved being on the lake. As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
