Obituary of Marjorie Simpson

A resident of Ridgetown, and formerly of Howard Township, Marjorie Simpson passed away at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown with her family at her side on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the age of 94.Born in Port Huron, Michigan, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Earl and Emma (Watson) Greene. Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Max Simpson (2007). Dear mother of John Simpson and his wife Sonia of R.R.#1 Ridgetown, Bob Simpson and his wife Maryanne of Blenheim, Nancy Sensabaugh and boyfriend John Smith of Ridgetown, and Gordon Simpson and his wife Nancy of Chatham. Predeceased by her son-in-law Ed Sensabaugh (2005). Proud Grandma of Chris and Heather Simpson, Jamie and Cindy Simpson, Michelle and Joel Frost, Tara Simpson and Justin Faubert, Matt Simpson and Heather Hawley, Katie Sensabaugh and boyfriend Jeremy Aquino, Ben Simpson, Diana Simpson and boyfriend Andrew Keech, Dan Redekop, Martha Redekop, Phil Redekop and Maggie Redekop. Great-grandmother of Celestia, Joshua, Amelia, Brittany, Meredith, Callum, Bryson, Oliver, Nola, Jack, Anne, Dayton and Kinsey. Predeceased by her brothers Clyde, Arthur, Donald and Gordon. Sister-in-law to Mabel Greene of Dearborn, Michigan, Fern Simpson of Ailsa Craig, Ray and Ruth Simpson of Blenheim, Donna Simpson of Ridgetown, Russel and Ruth Simpson of Glencoe, Ruth Campbell of Blenheim, Fred Simpson of Wallacetown, Bob Eskritt of Ridgetown and Helen Field of Ridgetown. Predeceased by many sisters and brothers-in-law. Dearly missed by good friend Bea Moore. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Marjorie was a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Ridgetown. She enjoyed knitting baby sweaters for children overseas and baking cookies for her grandchildren. She also loved doing crosswords. She was mindful of others and was known to send many letters and cards to update everyone about the family. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main Street E., Ridgetown on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 with Rev. Doug Rowley and Casey Huisman officiating. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Ridgetown. Pallbearers will be Ben Simpson, Matt Simpson, Jeremy Aquino, Chris Simpson, Jamie Simpson, Joel Frost, Justin Faubert and Andrew Keech. Honourary bearers will be Diana Simpson, Katie Sensabaugh, Michelle Frost, Tara Simpson, Heather Simpson, Cindy Simpson and Heather Hawley.
