Obituary of Marie Simard

SIMARD: Marie. A resident of Windsor, and formerly of Chatham, Marie Simard died peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital on Monday December 16, 2013 at the age of 90 years. She was born in Dover Township, daughter of the late Edgar & Elda (Moore) Bechard. Beloved wife of the late Joe Simard (1999). Loving mother of Joe & Kathy Simard of Windsor, and Ron Simard & Ed Sernie of Hamilton. Cherished grandmother of Nicole & Gabe Crowder of Hamilton, and Joe Simard & Gisele Roy of Windsor. Proud great grandmother of Mya Rochemont-Simard, Liam Crowder, and Claire Crowder. Dear sister of Ralph & Monica Bechard of Chatham, and the late Gerry & Jackie Bechard, Lionel & Ann Bechard, Annette & Jim Dillon, and Lloyd & Marie Bechard. Fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Madeline Bechard of Chatham, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marie recently enjoyed a wonderful family celebration on the occasion of her 90th Birthday, December 8, 2013. Family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank-you to a number of people who took great care of Marie in the past few years; CCAC and caregivers, Meals on Wheels, Members of St. John Vianney Parish in Windsor who delivered communion to her, and to the staff at Metropolitan Hospital, Windsor for their compassion. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday December 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
