Obituary of Paul Kloostra

KLOOSTRA, Paul Edward A resident of Chatham, Paul Kloostra, passed away suddenly teaching at John McGregor Secondary School on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the age of 47. Beloved husband, forever love and best friend for 20 years to Shelley Bechard-Kloostra. Loving father to Emilee & Valerie Kloostra. Cherished son to Dick & Grace (Postma) Kloostra, and a special son-in-law to Ivan & Dora Bechard. A special brother to Ken & Allison Kloostra, Michael & Christina Bechard, Lee Ann & Bill Sparks. Survived by siblings Wally (Corine) Kloostra, Rob Kloostra, Shirley (Chris) Vanderiviere, Walter (Donna) Kloostra. Special uncle to Keaton & Archer Kloostra, Shannon Papps, Shawn & David Bechard, Caitlin Sparks, Hayden & Stephanie Kloostra, Kory Vanderiviere, Kyle & Kathryn Kloostra. Forever missed by his pet companion Milo. Paul began his career as a diesel mechanic where he excelled and eventually managed a local transport repair shop in Chatham. To pursue his passion for teaching he returned to university and earned his teaching degree. He taught at schools, in both Lambton and Kent counties. Paul’s zest for life was also shown in his enthusiasm as a basketball coach and fisherman. He relished every day in the classroom, on the court and on the water. Paul’s love of life was only exceeded by the love for his family and friends. Paul will be remembered fondly by all of the lives he touched. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. or Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 with Fr. Daniel Bombardier as celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
