Obituary of David Wayne Walker

Walker, David, Wayne, a resident of Chatham-Kent. Dave Walker died Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 62. Born in Fargo, Ontario, he was the son of the late Ernest John & Gertrude (Small) Walker. Beloved partner of Karen Tengelits and husband of the late Kathryn Thompson-Walker (1998) and Diane (Fisher) (1993). Dear father of Dave Jr. Walker (Charity), Doug Walker (Jackie), Dan Walker (Lori), Lisa Massender (Rob), Jackie Rolo (Carlos), Nick Tengelits (Kate), and Brenda Tengelits (Matt). Papa to Paige, Megan, Ethan, Tyson, Roen, Sawyer, Lucas(2010), expecting baby Walker (Feb 2014), Ireland, Liam, Nate, Olivia, Tiago, Luca, Dominic, Mathew, Elek & Persephone. Brother of Robert (Pam) Walker, Jim (Linda) Walker, Marg (Ed) Chaput, Don (Louise) Walker, Murray (Susan) Walker, all of Chatham-Kent, and John Walker of Windsor. Also surviving sister-in-laws, Mary Walker (Windsor), Ruth Ann Walker (London) and Helen Walker (Chatham-Kent). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Andy Walker, Barbara Campbell, George Walker, John Walker, and Ron Walker. Dave was a longtime devoted employee for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and a devoted member of St. Vincent dePaul Society. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Sunday January 26 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Monday January 27 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home on Monday at 3:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ursula’s Catholic Church on Tuesday January 28 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow with the Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham at a later date.
