Obituary of William Terry

TERRY, William, a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, at the age of 87. Cherished husband and best friend to Betty Mae (Arnold) for 63 years. Loving father of the late William Terry Jr., Fawn Andrew (Paul) of New Sarum, Michael Terry (Susan) of Toronto, Nancy Stead (Ron) of Chatham, David Terry (Joan) of Oakville, Willow Kelly of Chatham and Hope Terry (Dave) of Dundas. Dear brother to the late Beth Tiedeman (Hank) and Kingsley Terry (Shirley). Beloved grandfather and great-grandfather of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. William cherished his family and the memories shared with them. He worked as a clerk and deputy city manager for the city of Chatham, served as Alderman and had a second career in real estate as an appraiser and broker. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 3:00-5:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014. Interment is to take place. In memory of William and for his love of animals, donations can be made to the O.S.P.C.A of Chatham-Kent.
