Obituary of Clara Rewitz

REWITZ: Clara (nee Crawford) – A resident of Chatham, Clara Rewitz passed away with her family at her side at the Maple City Retirement Residence in Chatham on Thursday, January 30, 2014. Born 82 years ago in Cedar Springs, Ontario, to the late Roy Crawford and Tillie Crawford Ball. Survived by her devoted children, Gail Poissant (Ray) of Chatham, Ron of Hamilton and Rick of Chatham. Predeceased by her daughter Janet Leigh (1962). Cherished grandchildren Jennifer Smith (Tony) of Fergus, Christine Taylor (Mark) of Erie Beach, Jeff Coles and companion Jessica Zaitz of Hamilton. Loving Grandy of Ashley Taylor, Meghan and Rachel Smith. Predeceased by her sisters Dot Henneberry, Joan Holdaway and Linda Dale and brothers Roy and Fred Crawford, step-father Pete Ball and son-in-law Dwight Bower. Also survived by step-sister Norma Ball Couse of New Mexico, sister-in-law Nancy Crawford of Blenheim, brother-in-law Leo Henneberry (Gisela) of Portland, Ontario and Roy’s companion Louise Pighin. Dear aunt to thirteen caring, thoughtful nieces, nephews and their families. Clara was an employee at Zeller’s for 31 years, retiring in 1996. She also was employed at Janie’s Fashions for 10 years. She was an active member at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Chatham. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 with Pastor Art Schiemann officiating. Interment to follow at Craford Cemetery, Raleigh Township. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Clara to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
