Obituary of Robert 'Bob' Anakin

ANAKIN, Robert “Bob” William A resident of Chatham, Robert “Bob” Anakin, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 79. Born in Chatham, son of the late Bill & Hilda Anakin. Cherished husband of the late Carolyn (Guyett) Anakin (2008). Loving father to Cherie Anakin Alexander of Chatham. Papa will be forever missed by his grandchildren Madelyn & Benjamin Alexander. Brother to Betty Stonehil (Albert) of London, and the late Doreen Wilton and her husband Richard of Windsor. Missed by his 8 nieces and nephews. Bob worked at CFCO Radio, International Harvester, LCBO, and served on the Board of Directors for the Chatham Figure Skating Club. Bob spent many years standing beside the boards making sure all the Canskate children had their skates on right and encouraging them to do their best. He loved watching a generation of skaters progress from taking their first steps to achieving their dreams. Madelyn and Ben meant the world to him. He was their cheerleader, their confident, their father figure and taxi driver. Because he loved to watch them dance, unless it was in the morning when they were suppose to be getting ready for school, the family has requested any donations to Canada's National Ballet School. Cremation has taken place. A Private Family Interment will take place.
