Murphy, Viola (Babcock), a resident of Chatham. Viola (Babcock) Murphy died Wednesday April 2, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 81. Born in Tecumseh Township, Ontario, daughter of the late Wesley & Mary Margaret (Keating) Varcoe. Dear companion of Gordon Jeffrey, Chatham. Beloved mother of Lance (Carol-Anne) Babcock, Chatham & Tammy (Gary) VanRoboys, Chatham. Grandmother of Nathan Babcock, Calgary; Joel Babcock, Toronto; Aaron (Danielle) VanRoboys, Chatham; Erica (Brian) Modde, Chatham; Maryia Shchepanouskaya, Chatham; Kate Shchepanouskaya, Chatham; and Cindy (Elliott) Wilson, Wabash. Great grandmother of Chase Modde; Baby VanRoboys (soon to arrive); and Hollie & Amanda Wilson. Predeceased by grandchildren Shawn & Nicole VanRoboys (1981). Sister of the late Evaleen Paige; Clarence Varcoe; Helen (Ernie) Matthews; Elva Kirby; Dorothy Apps; and Irvin Varcoe. Sister-in-law of Gladys Varcoe; Violet Glacier; Alma (Elwood) Champion & John Kirby. Also missed by several nieces, nephews and her loving canine companion Madi. Viola loved playing cards, golfing and gardening. She will be missed by her many kind and loving friends. Family and friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Friday April 4, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev.
