Obituary of June Whittington

WHITTINGTON, June A resident of RR#3 Chatham, June Whittington, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2014 in Ridgetown at the Village on the Ridge. Beloved wife of William Whittington and mother of David Whittington of London, Jeff Whittington and his wife Cathy of Toronto. Grandmother of Spencer Whittington and Adam Whittington of Toronto. Sister-in-law of Bill & Shirley Cook of London, Katherine Whittington of Chatham. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Douglas & Isabelle Ralph, and sister Janet Cook. June was born on June 1st, 1926, she attended the University of Western Ontario and taught phys-ed at Ridgetown and Blenheim High Schools. June was a long time member of the Zion United Church and the U.C.W. She loved curling, golfing, was a long time member of the Ridgetown Golf & Curling Club and Chatham Granite Club. Memorial Visitation will take place at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Heather Scott officiating. Interment of Cremated Remains will take place in Botany Cemetery at a later date.
