Obituary of Joseph Hugh McCabe

McCabe, Joseph Hugh, a resident of Chatham. Joseph McCabe died Saturday April 12, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 56. Born in Messelburgh, Scotland, son of Mary (Connolly) McCabe, Brampton, and the late Hugh McCabe. Beloved husband of Janet (Mitchell) McCabe. Dear father of Jennifer, Woodstock and Christy, Brampton. Joseph will be missed by his 7 grandchildren. Brother of Karen (William) Patterson, Niagara Falls. Son-In-Law of Ken & Shirley Mitchell, Woodstock. Brother-in-law of Cathy (Fred) Sinki, Woodstock and the late Don Mitchell. Nephew of Peter Connolly. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joseph was a National Representative for the CAW for many years and was known to his family and friends as a kind and generous man. Friends will be received at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair St., Chatham on Tuesday April 15, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ursula’s Catholic Church, Chatham on Wednesday at 12 Noon with Fr. Matt Kucharski celebrant. Cremation to follow with Interment at a later date. Donations in memory of Joseph to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
