Obituary of Adrienne Lucienne Casier

CASIER: Adrienne Lucienne A resident of R.R. # 2 Blenheim, Adrienne Casier died on Tuesday July 1, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Ninove, East Flanders, Belgium in 1927 to the late Jules & Germaine (Ghysels) Cooreman. Her family immigrated to Wallaceburg in 1928, where Adrienne grew up a proud Canadian. She worked in the fields with her parents, and left school during the war to work in the brass factory. She married the late Julian Casier in 1948, and they farmed together on the Front Ridge Road in Harwich, where they raised their two sons. Beloved mother of Ron & Pauline Casier of St. Thomas, and Terry & Christine Casier of Blenheim. Greatly missed by her grandchildren: Daryl & Ainsley Casier of Acton, Kymberly & Rob Logan of Chatham, Corinne & Derek Koekhuyt of Trenton, Aaron & Kally Casier of Chatham, Remi Casier & Jess Vanderlinden of Waterloo, Victoria Casier & Jake Normandin of Oakville, and Karel Casier of St. Thomas. She is predeceased by two granddaughters Hanna and Mina Casier. Much loved by her great grandchildren: Mercer and Lochlan Casier, Isabelle and Andrew Logan, and Zachary Koekhuyt. Predeceased by her only sister Irene Van Hyfte, and nephews Rick and Gary Van Hyfte. Dear sister-in-law of Gus Wytinck of Chatham and Jeanne Casier of Chatham, and fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. Adrienne was a long time member of St. Mary’s Parish, the C.W.L. and Quilters Group. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered at the Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 95 Marlborough Street North, Blenheim on Saturday July 5, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
