Obituary of Haralambos 'Charlie' Paraskevopoulos

PARASKEVOPOULOS, Haralambos ‘Charlie’, a resident of Chatham, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 74. Dear son of the late Anastasios & Kondylo Paraskevopoulos (Nee Tambakis). Beloved husband to Elene for 55 years. Loving father of the late Tom (Sharon) Paraskevopoulos, of Chatham, Jim Paraskevopoulos & the predeceased Lynn, of Chatham, Nick (Dina) Paraskevopoulos, of Aurora, the late Eric (Margo) Paraskevopoulos, of Cambridge, Cathy (Jim) Babalis, of Chatham and Steve Paraskevopoulos, of Toronto. Cherished grandfather to Lana, Kyle, TJ, Ashley, Gregory, Bradley, Sophia, Christina, Anastasia, Zoe, Ella, Thanasi, Bobby, Jorja, Eleni, Tommy & Charlie. Dear brother to Aristidis ‘Eric’ (Gina) Paraskevopoulos, of Chatham and Helen (John) Vlitas, of Toronto. Charlie is survived by several nieces and nephews. Charlie cherished the time spent with all of his grandchildren and absolutely loved spending his summers back home in Greece. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Thursday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. with Prayers being offered at 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church, Chatham. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations in memory of Charlie to St. Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance-Oncology Chemotherapy Parking would be greatly appreciated by the family.
