RITCHIE, Verla A resident of Chatham and formerly of Raleigh Township, Verla Ritchie (Pepper), passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Chatham Retirement Resort. Born in Chatham on January 22, 1928, daughter of the late Hilton & Pearl (Knott) Pepper. Beloved wife for 66 years to Art Ritchie. Mother to David & Suzann Ritchie, Janet & Randy Smith. Loving grandmother to Nathan Smith (Wendy), Jason Smith (Jen), Lori Alexander, and great-grandmother to Carrissa, Carter, Sadie, Phineas, Hucksley, Breanna. Verla is predeceased by her siblings Earl, Lyla, Carl, Lloyd. Special thanks to the CCAC Palliative Care Team, the staff at Chatham Retirement Resort for all your care and compassion. A Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Private Family Interment at Pardoville-Union Cemetery.
