Obituary of Gus Sonneveld

SONNEVELD: Gus (Gosewinus)- A resident of Blenheim, Gus Sonneveld passed away at his residence on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the age of 84. Born in Pynacker, The Netherlands, Gus was the son of the late Gosewinus and Antje (Bos) Sonneveld. Beloved husband of Joan (Nauta) Sonneveld . Loving father of Gus and Dina Sonneveld of Aylmer, Jack and Shelley Sonneveld of Blenheim, Ruth Ann and Bryan Shoemaker of Aylmer, Henry and Darlene Sonneveld of Blenheim, Ben and Mary Jo Sonneveld of Blenheim, Wesley Sonneveld of Chatham, Wilma and Richard Wright of Ridgetown, Juliana and Kevin Salvadori of London, England. Proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Gus is survived by his two sisters Pieternella and Wilhelmina of The Netherlands and predeceased by his brother, Ben Sonneveld (2011). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The Sonneveld family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Reformed Church, 632 Lacroix Street, Chatham, on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Barry Wynveen officiating. Interment to follow at Pardoville-Union Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Gus to the Chatham Kent Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
