Obituary of Halarie Rivard

Rivard, Halarie (Joe), a resident of Pain Court. Halarie (Joe) Rivard passed away Thursday October 16, 2014 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus at the age of 88. Born in Stratford, Quebec son of the late Aimé & Letitia (Beliveau) Rivard. Beloved husband of Francoise (Gagnon) Rivard. Dear father of Claude (Sue) Rivard, Chatham; Marcel (Helayne) Rivard, Pain Court and Guy (Darlene) Rivard, Chatham. Grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Survived by 4 brothers, 1 sister; 5 brothers-in-laws and 2 sisters-in-law. Predeceased by 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Joe came to Pain Court from Quebec in 1949 and retired from King Grain in 1984. He was a member of Immaculée Conception Church, the Club de l'Age d'Or, and a member of Maple City Center for Older Adults. Joe was a skilled wood craftsman and enjoyed many hours in his workshop along with his friends and a cold beer. Cremation has taken place and a Private Family interment in Immaculée Conception Cemetery, Pain Court will be conducted at a later date.
