Obituary of Mary Alice Bennett

BENNETT: Mary Alice (nee Drury) – A resident of Raleigh Township, Mary Bennett passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Copper Terrace Nursing Home on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the age of 96. Born in Harwich Township, Mary was the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle May (Sheeler) Drury. Beloved wife of 52 years to the late Earl Leslie Bennett (1992). Loving mother of Wilda Haddock (George) of Chatham and Donna Root of High Springs, Florida. Proud grandmother of Karen DeKay (Rob) and Stephen Haddock (Jessica.) Great-grandmother of Ethan, Luke and Carter; Johnathan and Emily. Mary will be missed by her cousin Muriel McLeod (Max). Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Mary enjoyed playing Euchre and Pepper with her friends, and was known as a talented quilter. She enjoyed many friendships with the parishioners of Charing Cross United Church. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Charing Cross United Church, 8561 Middle Line, Charing Cross at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 with Rev. Dr. Margaret Trapnell and Pastor Eric Skillings officiating. Interment to follow at Pardoville-Union Cemetery.
