Hoy: Dorothy Janet - A resident of Chatham, Dorothy Hoy, died peacefully on Tuesday January 27, 2015 at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. She was born in Chatham on September 16, 1934, daughter of the late John Foster and Doris (Foster) Atkinson (nee Bell). Beloved wife of 23 years to John David Hoy, and the late William Gordon Jenner (1980). Loving mother of Lori & Dr. Wayne Carr and Lisa & Kenneth Blonde. Grandmother of Austin, Tyson, Bianca Carr, Jordan, Jackson, James Blonde. Step mother to Pat & Debbie Hoy, Michael Hoy & Maureen Durnin, Daniel & Barbara Hoy, Paul & Amber Hoy, Marie Hoy & Donald Bruce. Step Grandmother to Erin & Scott, Ryan, Alexis & Thomas, Joshua, Sarah & Helen, Colin, Shannon, Alicia, Drew. Sister of Jean & Russell Smith, Margaret & Robert Watson, the late Robert (2013) & Rose Foster. Sister-in-law of the late Barbara & Donald Richardson, John & Helen Jenner, the late Robert & Jane Jenner, and Loretta Hoy. Forever missed by numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was known to many through her selfless services through her Church and community. Friends will be received at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Chatham on Saturday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at St. Paul's Congregational Church, 450 Park Avenue West, Chatham on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham. Donations made in memory of Dorothy to the Chatham-Kent Hospice, Outreach for Hunger, or Community Living Chatham-Kent are welcomed.
