Obituary of Kurt Michels

MICHELS, Kurt Born in Germany, a resident of Chatham and formerly South Africa, Kurt Michels, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 29, 2015. Beloved husband of Shirley and the late Margrete. Loving father to Klaus Michels (Magda) , Brigitta Simpson (Chris), Annegret Waldeck (Johnny) all of South Africa, and step-father to Kjell Olsen (Margrit) of South Africa, Heidi Polinsky (Terry 2012), and Lucy Johnston of Chatham. Grandfather of Melissa, Lisa, Monique and her son Michael, Andre, Jerusha, Eugen, Samuel, Timothy all of South Africa, Kaitlin, Ben (2010), Justin of Canada. Also forever missed by his siblings (Helga Durr, Arno Michels, Horst Michels, Gerd Michels, Reinhilde Klompfass, and Cristel Conrad) of Germany and extended family in Canada, South Africa and Germany. Cremation has taken place. Gathering of friends and family will take place at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday, February 5, 2015 from 4:30 p.m. until the Celebration of Life at 5:30 p.m. Those wishing to leave a donation in memory of Kurt Michels to the Chatham-Kent Hospice would be appreciated.
