Obituary of Howard James 'Sandy' Elliot

ELLIOT, Howard James "Sandy" A resident of Chatham, Sandy Elliot, passed away on February 14, 2015 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Born in Oil Springs, son of the late Alexander & Verna Elliot. Beloved husband of the late Gerry Elliot (nee Armstrong). Loving father to Jane & John Cabuche, John & Gloria Elliot. Grandpa to Shannon Edwards, and great grandpa to Grace Edwards. Brother to Jean & George Racey, the late Harold Elliot, the late Marion Racey, Hazel Snider. Sandy owner and operated Elliot Motors in Wallaceburg from 1946 until relocating to Chatham, where he purchased the former Thames Motors, he opened Sandy Elliot Motors Ltd until selling the firm in 1972. He later opened Honda House. Sandy served during WWII with the Canadian Army, and was a member of Park St. United Church for over 50 years. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. Interment of Cremated Remains to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
