Obituary of Oliver Jones

JONES, Oliver Thomas Oliver Jones passed away peacefully at the Chatham Retirement Resort on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the age of 90. Predeceased by his wife Alice Marie (Larabee) Jones (1998). Dear Father of Joyce & John Black, Shirley & Rick Maynard. Beloved grandfather of Sarah & Peter White, Mason & Lori Maynard, Brad & Mary Maynard. Great-grandfather to Timothy, and Mary White, Aiden, Justin, Abigail, Jesse, and Joey Maynard. Survived by his sister Marion Peltier, nephew Dan Sullivan, nieces Patricia Willan, Dina Droppo, and Jennifer Peltier-Alves. Predeceased by his parents Herbert & Charlotte (Thompson) Jones, siblings Monica Chittim, Stan Jones, and Velma Hartley. Oliver was a lifelong farmer in Raleigh Township, a WWII Veteran serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed in England during the war, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 465 Merlin. Family to receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Legion Service at 6:45 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Merlin Cemetery.
