Obituary of Helen McNear

McNEAR: Helen (nee Pickering) - A resident of Blenheim, Helen McNear passed away at the Blenheim Community Village on Tuesday, March 25, 2015 at the age of 95. Born in Harwich Township, Helen was the daughter of Guy and Pearl (Want) Pickering. Beloved wife of the late Robert (1963). Loving mother of the late Allen "Buck" McNear (Doris). Survived by her children, Marion Shepherd (Bob), Tom McNear (late Linda), Ruth Ann Jinkerson (late Gord), Jim McNear (Marybelle), Marge McVicar (Herb), Linda Millyard (Dave), Bob McNear (Sandy) and Thelma McNear (Rob Campbell). Proud Grandma of 29 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. Dear sister to Mildred Mills. Sister-in-law to Marge McNear. Predeceased by two brothers, three sisters and longtime companion Fran Pelletier. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Helen was a passionate and skilled knitter, and had enjoyed attending many craft shows. She was a lifetime member and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Br. 185 Blenheim and a member of the Ladies Guild at the Trinity Anglican Church. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 141 Park Street, Blenheim on Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015.
